Transmission pressure valve replacement

Step 1
• Locate transmission oil pan and drain fluid properly. Remove the transmission pan bolts and the pan.

Step 2
• · Gently pull filter off from the sump end first and rotate filter slowly to remove completely.

Step 3
• Remove only the accumulator valve body bolts carefully. Remember to work in a clean environment and always use lint free towels.

Step 4
• Pay attention to the small filter in the transmission, check for cleanliness and secure to transmission.

Step 5
• · Place the accumulator valve body on a clean, protected surface, with the mating surface facing up.

Step 6
• · Locate the accumulator valve as indicated on the illustration.

Step 7
• Remember, when removing or installing that parts, they must move freely.

Step 8
• Remove the security clip and push the valve assembly out completely.

Step 9
• Replace the accumulator valve assembly with the DIABLO accumulator valve kit, using the original springs.

Step 10
• · Reinstall the valve assembly and install the original security clip. Next, reinstall the accumulator valve body and torque the bolts to 60 inch lbs of torque. Use a uniform sequence when setting torque to hold the bolts in place.

Step 11
• Replace transmission filter and reinstall the oil pan .

Step 12
• Locate the transmission filter tube and fill transmission with fluid approximately 5 quarts of a Mercon type fluid.

Step 13
• Check fluid level when hot to locate any fluid leaks.
