Why did aFe patent-apply their Multiple Directional Vane (MDV) Blade Runner air manifolds (elbow)?
Regardless of which tuner, cold-air kit, exhaust system or any other performance accessories you may already have, your Cummins stock intake elbow pinches off and restricts the air flow as much as 40% before it can even enter the engine. This is typical of the Cummins stock intake elbow (not designed for maximum air flow).
Note Image to the right. As the Stock Dodge Cummins intake manifold has sharp bends and corners. Air flows around these corners and zones of dead air created. These dead air zones choke down air and restrict airflow to your engine.
aFe's Patented MDV Technology!
aFe's first offering in a series, this new line of charged air manifolds utilizes a patent-pending Multiple Directional Vane (MDV) Technology to improve air delivery to the engine. The multiple internal vanes smooth the airflow at critical transition points for up to 90% better airflow than stock.
aFe's MDV technology smooth bends along with directional vanes form multiple air paths throughout the entire manifold (elbow). These new smoother and shorter paths producing much smaller dead air zones for increased overall airflow to the engine.
